Title: Translating the Ultra-Realist Point of View into the Modern Era with Regards the Long Term Affects on Non-Combatants

Author: Midn John Pierczynski,

In today’s war on terror, many ultra realists have taken the stance that an aggressive campaign must be waged in order to win.  Victor Davis Hanson’s writings and ideas that have come to represent these views are respected by the current administration.  This paper analyzes Hanson’s contradictory views and translations of Thucydides and Sherman’s writing and actions from their period into the present.  The paper looks at how the actions will affect long-term non-combatant attitudes toward the United States.
